A new study published in ACS Chemical Biology by scientists from the University of Chicago found that one of the most common classes of antibiotics used as a food preservative has potent effects both against pathogens and against the commensal gut bacteria that keep us healthy.

      Don’t worry, your brain is just an unfortunate side-effect and the gut microbes actually rule the body. When they’re in danger they sacrifice unimportant organs like the brain first. “Death” doesn’t actually mean what you think it does… 😬
