I learnt about this finding out of Finland from a study with thousands of participants over 20 years a few weeks ago. I share it here as I think it can help us improve our longevity.

Basically I set up this community to collect research and info about the Health Benefits of Saunas. If you are interested, I would probably start from the bottom (oldest links to newest links)

When you think how quickly the cost of supplements add up over the years - it might make the investment in an in home sauna worthwhile.

Hope you find this interesting.

Fascinating, I did not know that this a phenomenon under study. I will take a look!

I grew up in Mexico, and there are multiple old traditions that emphasize the health and spiritual benefits of sauna-like experiences, a popular example being the Temazcal. It appears that humans have had an intuition for a long time that this type of experience is healthy for the body. I always suspected that this intuition was wrong, and that it was just a psychologically appealing superstition. But I am happy to learn that my suspicions might be unfounded!

      Fascinating.

The Japanese also have their Ofuro Hot Tubs. They say this and their diet is why the Japanese live so long.
