Have you tried caffeine? I remember in my twenties, trying to stay awake at work after a late night, and drinking mountain dew was making me even more sleepy. Turns out some of us have the opposite reaction to stimulants, so it would make sense some people also have a reverse reaction to things that make other people sleepy?

If you’re looking for a relaxing tea, I highly recommend lavender. I use a tea ball filled with dried flowers that I bought in bulk online. Honey optional. Chamomile is nice, but it has never done much for me beyond “a cup of something warm is relaxing”.

I also find that lavender oil works really nicely in an oil diffuser, but it turns out that my husband is terribly allergic to it, so I don’t use it that way anymore.

That shit tastes awful and it doesn’t work with me either. Neither does melatonin. And pharmaceutical sleep aids, both OTC and prescription make me fuzzy all day the next day. Thankfully, I haven’t had trouble getting to sleep as much now that I’m older.
