If you’re in academics, you’re always working, even when you’re not writing. That includes sleep and everything else. Ideas aren’t like widgets in a factory; they’re like a flower bed, where your brain is the soil and your attention is the water. Over-watering a flower won’t bring it to maturation any more quickly, and infact can kill it.
All of your ideas are always developing, whether you notice or not.
Surprisingly, no. I’ve somehow managed to avoid that, despite everything.
