Some thoughts I had on decentralization and the fediverse. If you hear someone say that wolfballs or similar platforms are centralized and prone to censorship, feel free to share this video and explain why that isn’t the case.
Also, upvote on reddit if you still have an account https://old.reddit.com/r/RedditAlternatives/comments/t5to6x/federated_reddit_alternatives_clarified/
It got censored over on reddiit alternatives idk why yet
Because reddit.
true
reddit is insufferable, the op vid sounds on topic to post there, probably removed for “self promotion” i would guess although it was an organic discussion of the issues.
I don’t even see a rule against self promotion. Seemed like good content to fill their sub. Must be a libturd on the mod team or something
Wow, this is disappointing :/ There is too much censorship. Please don’t be discouraged!
@masterofballs@wolfballs.com I love the video that you just made about decentralization, especially the way of the tone of your voice when you where talking with that mask, im new in this thigh of Lemmy instances, and ive noticed that this instance was block by the others, and i came here to look what`s happening, i like your content, and now im a for life user of this platform, thanks for reading, i hope you the best, and please continue bringing content to us, your fans :D
Yeah lemmy doesn’t like the freedom to speak your mind. They only want left leaning instances connected to their platform. We are happy to have you here.
That said, if you want content from both I suggest using the lemmur app
Hey! Thanks for the shout out for us lotide folks!
Glad to have you guys commenting. Wish we could follow your communities.
I just saw that in Lemmy 0.16 “Lemmy can now receive deletions from [Pleroma], comments from [Friendica] and communities from lotide”
That’s pretty huge.
Nice, i’ll upgrade this weekend. I might go in and disable the deletion part though. I don’t know how I feel about that one.
@masterofballs @sj_zero that’s for users deleting their own content, it just didn’t work from anything but lemmy due to an oversight on their part
lol
well to me decentralization is often “centralization on a small scale”.
It’s just hoped that there are backups of the small scale operation (possibly on other small scale operations) and multiple small scale operations in case one operation fails for whatever reason.
