        That is interesting. I have never heard of anyone requesting Thunderbird for Android, but if there is a demand for this app, glad to hear they try to deliver.

      There aren’t so many good and free e-mail clients for Android that aren’t either a privacy nightmare or drowning under a shitload of ads (or both).

        You either have fairmail, k9mail or the stock Android one

        And i find the first two too convulated… And the latter is a bit limited.

    Curious about what this means… Are they trying to port everything over or is it going to be a simpler email app under the thunderbird brand? Either way I think it’s a cool idea.

    I mainly use Protonmail so it’s been a long while since I’ve used an email client like Thunderbird. What does everyone think are some features that an Android version of Thunderbird might provide over using another email client from fdroid or just the protonmail app (besides the obvious of protonmail only working with the app and thunderbird supporting multiple email providers of course.)

      the addon ecosystem might be ported to android too? I hope so, extensibility is what i love most about thunderbird :D
