    The new “Mini” on the left is also quite small by modern standards.

    Consumers have not only been brainwashed and forced into buying cars, we have been brainwashed into thinking bigger cars are better.

      Do you not realize the original mini was basically a clown car? Good luck moving anything other than one passenger or 15 clowns.

    Hey, we gotta take into account that 'specially 'Muricans now are much more, er, big-boned than before! Ain’t no way we’re fitting in that teeny matchbox on the right. We’d have to slim down for that, which is frankly unacceptable.

    Lot of that on the newer car is crumple zones for keeping the driver and passengers safe. Still a good point though. Cars could no doubt be a lot smaller on average. I just drove a rental Chevy Spark over the weekend. It was more than enough car for me.
