Free wall food, that’s a win
I’m good with lining my home with honey bees as my insulation, just gotta get some removable racks and a water tube for proper bee keeping.
I wonder if that would be up to code. What is the r-value of a bee box filled with bees and honey? Also, the consequences for punching a hole in the wall are now immediate and serious.
That’s a great question, all I can find is information on the R-value required for insulation around the hive to keep the bees nice and warm in the winter. Clearly more research must be done!

This just getting better and better. Say less lol
Don’t bees actually generate heat? They can like cook invading wasps to death.
I have heard that but the ones that live in my parents walls die en masse in the winter and it rarely gets below 50F. So I don’t know if that’s life cycle or cold?
Maybe they can tolerate heat but are weak to cold. Summon the apiarists!
That’s what this whole convo needs. Apiarists and structural engineers.
