I searched it and it turns out that the shell isn’t actually green! The shell is translucent and the green actually comes from a part of the body of the snail called the mantle:

Does it do fun things like move very slowly and be deadly poisonous? Cuz that would be whimsical.

I wonder how Hayao Miyazaki would draw this little guy.
