    I’ve read that abstract like three times and I still can’t tell whether the authors claim having communities divided between largely immigrant and largely non-immigrant makes crime go down, or if it’s vice versa.

    Super interesting. In initial reading it seemed at fist like you might have misinterpreted the study but it does seem like they’re saying it’s been well established that immigrantion lowers neighbour violent crime (though I’m not sure exactly what that does or doesn’t include)

    And it seems like a lot of this paper is more specifically about how opportunity for meaningful political engagement, or self representation augments that decrease in violent crime. Without reading the whole thing I can’t tell how much they focus on the general relationship between immigration and violent crime, or crime in general
