Apparently. I guess a lot are boomers and/or obviously playing “react quickly to outside factors that affect stock value” game and they’ve knee jerk reacted to what they perceived was a legitimate tweet. Gotta love the stability of the stock market, such a consistent and safe economic system.
A lot of trading nowadays is done by bots, who probably look at news stories for different headlines and responses. They could also treat minor fluctuations with even more hysteria than people do.
