I’ve been reading about this since a few months ago. It sounds great, and I wish I could find a sodium ion battery mfr to invest in but I haven’t found any with public stocks.

Sodium batteries are non-flammable which is a huge safety issue with Lithium, to add to all the rest of the resource mining issues they have.

I’d love to have a medium sized electric SUV that runs on sodium batteries instead of lithium.

Early smart fortwo EV had a sodium battery. On the topic of flammability it’s worth noting that LifePo4 is also non flammable and has higher durability than li-ion while also not having the same toxic metals in addition to lithium.

In the past the challenge with sodium batteries was keeping them warm enough to actually work.
