When scientists examined pellets from recycled plastic collected in 13 countries they found hundreds of toxic chemicals, including pesticides and pharmaceuticals. The results are published in a study led by scientists at the University of Gothenburg.

    I’ve always wondered about this. New plastics are rarely ‘safe’ or without hazardous contamination from the manufacturing process. It’s interesting to see recycled plastics are even more contaminated from their previous uses.

    Not that we recycle the stuff that goes in our yellow bins in my state anyway.
