The sidebar on the right of the front-page provides some statistics:

And here is a chart of new user account creation that I made by querying the database and then plotting with python. Lots of new users!

I upgraded the server a few days ago, I think the instance can handle several more active users. I am trying to learn how to analyze the amount of load put on the server so that I can respond in the best way possible if there are performance issues. I have seen at some points the instance slow down while all of the parameters (CPU cores, RAM, and bandwidth usage) appear to be healthy in the terminal, so I still have some learning to do.

I haven’t quite posted that much on Mander yet, even though I love this instance and its’ uniqueness in the Fediverse. Browsing local always feels like coming home. So thank you for all that you do! And given this quite exponential growth, is there anything we can do to support server costs?

Thank you! That’s very nice of you.

The server costs are very manageable - under €20 a month, and I expect that I will be able to cover the server costs without problem for a long time.

Growth usually comes in spikes, but then these spikes come back down to a slower-steady growth. Continuous exponential growth would get scary, but I expect a more manageable situation :)

If you would like to contribute financially to the project, my recommendation would be to donate to the developers. Here is their donation page: https://join-lemmy.org/donate

They have mentioned that their preferred option is LibrePay, and second best is OpenCollective.

The developers would like to get enough funds to develop Lemmy as a full-time job, and many of their development projects are about making Lemmy more efficient - which would have the effect of lowering the server costs for every instance.
