Conveniently, someone just asked for a Reddit alternative in /r/AlternativeTo. They would probably like to hear about this or something 😉
Does anyone know how the alternatives are ranked? There are multiple which have more likes than Lemmy, but are listed lower.

Should be higher in the list. One of the only REAL alternatives to Reddit. Others are just other social networks or forums. It is open-source and has very similar features.
Those comments do make me feel pretty great :) . That. @nutomic@lemmy.ml and I could build something out in the open that tech wise at least, rivals a company with hundreds of devs and millions of dollars at their disposal, is a great achievement.
