I don’t know that I’m smarter than average, but I do think it was smart of my wife and I to wait until our 30s to have a child. We got to spend our 20s as an independent couple and enjoy it and then, when we were settling down, we got to raise a child, the best thing that ever happened to me, when we were able to do so without sacrificing too much.
Anyone having kids in this era are none too smart.
In one sense, you’re absolutely right. It’s crazy to think about bringing a kid into this world.
In another sense, if we don’t add to the world by raising GOOD people, we are contributing to its demise.
Everyone has the ability to become a good person. I don’t believe that we are born inherently good or bad. However, how we are raised really really matters, so here is a case for a better education system and for adoption :).
