I was configuring syncthing and I don’t know if it would be better to sync specific files that I need or just sync the whole android storage into a folder in my computer so that I can modify anything from it. What do you sync between linux and android?
As someone mentioned in comments, Syncthing is an amazing tool to sync files locally.
Love syncthing so much. Also hightly recommend syncthing-fork on android, as you can schedule it to only sync once per hour and save battery.
I just sync a Backup folder using Syncthing, that way I know that the stuff I care about has a copy on my systems. The pictures are stored in the cloud using Google Photos.
I sync my journal.txt, ToDo.txt, ebooks, alot of notes. So mostly just light text documents.
Also, it is an easy way for me to share anything between PC-android
The things I keep in my main sync folder are text docs, a todo.txt, a keepass store… basically eveything small.
I also sync my downloads folder, for things like ebooks, audiobooks, etc. Also the Pictures folder, saving memes in one place and being able to see them from anywhere. I wouldn’t sync the entire android storage, that would be useless to any linux machine.

I sync backups, books, and DCIM, though the last is send only. I’m playing with the idea of syncing the better part of the user directory though…
I used it to sync Pictures when not using a cloud with auto photo upload. And a documents folder with stuff I need synced between devices. And a random folder for some things I wanted on my phone vice versa.
I sync my music folder, my documents, my password database, and my photos. Just those 4 folders.
