The issue that I have is with people who sit back and say “WHY AREN’T YOU DOING [CRIME]” without doing crime themselves. And I know they aren’t doing it because nobody is killing ICE agents.

If you have a criticism of the insufficiency of action, it better be made from within the movement, and you better be building the sort of structures that can actually carry out more radical action.

They would have done if there was a mass movement that could have shielded them from mass execution. Or if there were safeguards for people doing revolutionary acts considering crimes.

Cant really have that without an vanguard party visible to the masses.

These people in power forget that they, too, have names and addresses. They’ll likely have to send the whole town to El Salvador.

this will be the most lib thing i will ever comment here (for now) but intimidation is power too. knowing the vast majority of the population of your hometown is ready to stand around in your yard shouting at you, to the guy being shouted at, can be pretty scary.

it’s the implicit threat of violence that comes with those kinds of overwhelming numbers. it’s a first step to the application of such.

Yep. it’s a show of force. it’s saying “imagine us all here but we brought weapons instead”. you don’t have enough bullets to stop us

the ruling class, especially this current one (and the last) are legit terrified of even these shitty lib protests.

there’s a reason Clearview is trying to catalog everyone there for eventual elimination by deputized death squads, Luckey’s murder-drones, and ICE black bag teams.

they understand that even if it’s just a bunch of sleepy boomers with brunch signs there is that implicit threat behind it

Fun Fact: during the Insurrection of 10 August 1792 in France elite, heavily armed Swiss Guards (the best of the best, equivilant to modern SOCOM) were literally overwhelmed and torn to pieces by bare hands, cleavers, and picks. they fought with the best tactics available to them, had access to unlimited stores of ammo, and each regiment covered one in front as they did an orderly retreat in a familiar, fortified palace.

        it didn’t help them.

Just based on the numbers, it seems like there would be a solution that would, historically, be enacted by the large group of people against the lone, evil, tyrant.

Oh well. Fun Sunday, see you at brunch tomorrow, we really made the world a better place today.

What’s stopping you from going and doing it?

I just don’t think it’s fair to scorn liberals for attempting to do something, then suggesting something you realistically wouldn’t do yourself.

Realistically their options are to bombard ICE inboxes, blockade the house, maybe get away with some vandalism, but I don’t think you can realistically expect people to burn a senior government official’s house down - as much as it may be deserved.

One person is significantly easier to kill or imprison than a thousand. What I would hypothetically be willing to do [in the video game World of Warcraft] as part of a 1000 person raid is very different than what I would be willing to do as an individual.

Well, true, but that’s an enormous hypothetical, and not really a realistic course of action. Even in that hypothetical, if a mob of 1000 people started firebombing government officials house, the police and then the national guard would deploy and start shooting. And who begins the raid? There needs to be someone to make the first move, without surefire knowing that 1000 people are about to back them up.

Next time you’re at a protest see how you feel about throwing a Molotov - let alone throwing one at a government official. I’ve been in crowds where people have done so little as lobbing bottles, and that crowd immediately got kettled by armed and mounted police, and the people who threw it got singled out, dragged out, and put in the van.

Militancy happens when people’s lives are made utterly miserable. That’s why militancy happens in exploited countries. That’s why trade unionists and anti racist groups were militant in the 20s-70’s in America, but not anymore. The conditions don’t necessitate it right now, and it’s not yet a rational response to risk your life. It seems like those conditions will come back, but it hasn’t happened yet. If that time had come already, we wouldn’t be having this conversation.

Paint bomb ICE windshields if you see them. Gives more time to gather crowds at attempted abductions.

If you’re willing to sacrifice everything and end up in prison in the US for a long time, a one way flight is no barrier. If I were to get an ‘on-the-day’ flight, it could cost me less than $400, which is not a hard sum to make if you don’t plan on having any future commitments or a need to save up. Its an ocean between me and the US too, but it’s not the ocean that’s stopping me, it’s the fact that I am not willing to ruin my life for a cause that would forget me in no time at all. That’s the case for you too. Stop larping.

I have talked to a lot of people who are, perhaps not by their own words, but to some degree of self admitting, they are basically one financial hardship away from having nothing to lose. They might also be struggling with alienation of daily life working pointless jobs. Some people know that, statistically speaking, the financial mishap is coming, that the current regime is actively removing safety nets. Some people may want to reclaim some autonomy in their lives and get ahead of the bleak future. Some people already have nothing to lose.

For somebody in such a situation, in mainstream populism in the US, Luigi sits at the right side of the throne, and the left side is an open seat. It’s perhaps delusional to think someone could successfully pull off an act that would earn you the left seat in the court of public opinion, but people have gone to prison for dumber reasons. But there are a lot of people who are ready to commit a crime, they just lack knowledge of an opportunity to commit one.
