Bc of the environmental impact, I think than just by consuming and adequate amount of meat it should be okey. (We consume and exorbitant amount of meat)
37% of crops in the world (67% in the US) are actually used for animal feed. This increases land use, water use, and fertilizer/pesticide (petroleum products) use by a significant amount. Basically it roughly doubles how many resources you need to produce the same amount of calories. That’s not even including transportation, infrastructure, logistics, refrigerants, massive amounts of food waste, horrendous work conditions that drive a larger than average number of meat packers to suicide, and depletion of fisheries or topsoil that are also involved in the process.
Get rid of cars and meat and it solves 60% of the carbon problem. But tell anyone that and they say it’s not a life worth living. Dumbass addicts…
I agree with the sentiment but 60% seems like a bit of a stretch, at least on a global level:
Agriculture, Forestry & Land Use + Road Transport = 30.3% of global emissions.
Why meat?
