Teaching latin to redditors was one of the worst mistakes the west has done
Only superseded by telling them that they are clever for that (and all the genocide)
Post hoc? How about you post hog
ergo propter hog
(I have been waiting literal years for the right time to do a ‘post hog ergo propter hog’ joke)
I heard they graduated cum laude
that’s latin and it means “with cum”
they were a volcel and retained everything throughout their studies
magnum cum louder
My grandfather was fond of remarking with a limerick any time latin came up, because he was old as dirt and had to learn it in school:
Latin is a dead language,
As dead as dead can be,
It killed the ancient Romans,
And now it’s killing me.
Chuds have been ruining Latin for well over a hundred years. British linguists back in the day had to due some revisionist stuff since they wanted to claim that English had its roots in only ‘noble’ and fancy languages like Latin, instead of being a bastardized offshoot of German with some French and Latin smattering it.
Anyway, let’s stop fawning over Latin. It’s time to channel our inner caveman and start learning the Proto Indo-European they toss around in Far Cry: Primal.
The chuds promised we would be speaking arabic in five years
Inshallah
Everyone should learn Latin at school or you don’t know nuthin.
But this is just stock phrases. This person probably can’t decline the five declensions.
the latin isn’t the problem, it’s the people using it (as you can see from this thread, i’m well versed in latin)
Redditers should stay dead
This person probably can’t decline the five declensions.
The five declension? I’d prefer not to.
Ligma ballus.
sorry that’s a rectum ergo prostate fallacy
Teaching logical fallacies to redditors was one of the worst mistakes. They think it is just the magic “win argument” words, and fail to understand that logical fallacies are supposed to be used to examine your own arguments, not as a “gotcha” against your opponent.
im surprised they didnt work a ‘causus belli’ in there. Reddit clowns are V V fond of that one.
Latin was the only 2nd language I learned before university
I was lucky and had to study two colonizer languages before going to university so i was set with linguistic studies in university
cursed
No, blessed
the most valid use of latin
