Luna Oi was on an episode of The Deprogram. She talked about how police in Vietnam actually helped people during the pandemic. They helped provided food, supplies, etc.
People in capitalist states just can’t fathom that police could ever be used to help.
Jup, that’s why “ACAB” is such a stupid slogan if applied globally.
But the entire world is just full of hazy one note countries, America is the only country that actually exists, DUH. You OBVIOUSLY don’t know SHIT about what us anarchists believe 😤😤😤😤
ACCAB
Agree
SPOILERS for the podcast Dungeons and Daddies added a cop character who early on says “I like not picking violence as the default option” to which the dm responds “oh my god you are a fantasy cop”.
So yeah, even cops just being reasonable libs can’t even imagine in our world. It at least makes some sense as to why anarchists can’t imagine any cops being good, but that’s more a condemnation of capitalism than of the state
People in capitalist states just can’t fathom that police could ever be used to help.
*Oppressed people in capitalist states
Something that has always been frustrating to me is middle class people who always assume that the police will help. They don’t understand the repercussions.
As a side note it is so nice to see people in this sub say the things about anarkiddies that I’ve always thought to myself
There is constant pro-cop propaganda all over in the US, especially in children’s media.
Who’s a good boy? WHO’S A GOOD BOY?!
For real. I know (somewhat distantly) a couple people who got taken in, and joined the force for idealistic reasons. All them ended up disillusioned and embittered.
“I have never read a book written by a Marxist, a thread 🧵”

What happens to people disagreeing with anarchists then?
That probably strongly depend how big army they have.
forcing anarchism and feudal warlords on people, not authoritarian at all I guess? fuck I hate anarchists.
Since prison is authoritarian, the anarchist solution is death penalty or banishment from the commune
Horizontally. Organized. Work. Camps.

feudal lords riding you down on horseback because you ate one of their apples.

Its his freedom to do so. To stop him would be authoritarian, and denying his agency.
Roving bands of unaccountable thieving rape gangs. Decentralized and autonomous of course
Horizontally organized decentralized free confederal direct-democratic rule enforcers who are totally not police who take you to a horizontally organized decentralized direct-democratic anarcho-totally not a labor camp
The community decides duh
Anarchists should at least read Harry Potter.
Okay, you got a laugh
Ran across an anarchist clown claiming that “nobody needs a state or armies” to defeat an invading capitalist power, because Makhno kept the Red Army at bay for six months with only volunteers and small arms. It’s like, dude, there are a couple problems here:
-
In case you didn’t know this, and some anarchists apparently don’t, Makhno lost.
-
Exactly who is going to organize ammunition production/procurement for the weapons you’ve got? Not to mention logistics in general, because modern war is 9/10ths supply.
-
Do you really want to fight a knock-down, drag-out guerilla war every time every single time somebody threatens you? Something makes me think the people might not be on your side for very long if that keeps happening.
-
Along with #3, how exactly are you going to build up your economy in a state of continual war?
I swear, anarkiddies think life is a video game.
-
“Who’s the people’?”
🤡 🤡
For example, police in Vietnam help to sell fresh produce and distribute Vaccines rather than walking around heavily armed and pissed off with an inferiority complex.
Kropotkin’s Mutual Aid: A Factor in Human Evolution proposes that humans work together to make an advantage for all. That means that once we all have to work together without a state there won’t be racist, sexist, or other violence, so we won’t need a force to protect people. No I haven’t read the book, but I know what it’s about, why do you ask?
