Even if they do, they have the biggest neo liberal government on earth, thrusting money into the industrial military complex only means big profits for Lockheed Martin and very little output, plus Russia, China, and the rest of the anti imperialist core already have the advantage when it comes to manufacturing so they will be lagged behind anyway.
Exactly, the elephant in the room is that if US is having trouble keeping up with Russia in terms of industrial production, they have no hope of matching China which absolutely dwarfs Russia industrially.

It’s a process that has already begun and will continue for two more years. As the article states, the US has already gone from a pre-war production of 14,400 rounds per month to 90,000 now. So yields are ongoing. They are also working in the mean time to transfer supplies from current stockpiles until production levels ramp up.

Just for context, US currently produces 172,800 shells a year, while Russia was producing 733,260 back in 2021. And this six fold increase is going to take years to do. And shells aren’t the only problem here. US built howitzers can’t sustain the rate of fire needed to use such amounts of shells. So, it’s back to the drawing board for uncle Sam.
